Mental check-in

Accessible mental health care: invest in your wellbeing before problems arise or get worse. As a precaution, or as aftercare following earlier therapy.

Why a Mental check-in?

I believe mental health care should be within reach of a wider group of people. Not only for those who already have symptoms, but as a preventive step as well. Just as you go to the dentist for a check-up, or to the gym for your physical health, your mental wellbeing deserves the same attention.

The Mental check-in is exactly that: mental maintenance. It is meant for people who are not necessarily in crisis, but who do want to stop and look at how they are really doing. By checking in with yourself regularly, with professional guidance, you can spot patterns early, handle stress better and grow more resilient.

Too often people wait until the problems pile up before they look for help. The Mental check-in turns that around: invest in your mental health before you get properly stuck, so that you are better equipped for whatever life brings you. That way you do not run yourself into the ground, and there is no overdue maintenance to catch up on later.

Who is the Mental check-in for?

  • You function well, but you notice that you sometimes get stuck in thoughts or patterns
  • You want more self-insight and personal growth
  • You have a busy life and want to stop and look at your mental health
  • You have had therapy before and want to check in regularly on how you are doing
  • You want to learn to handle stress and sensory input better
  • You are curious about yourself and want to invest in your wellbeing before problems arise

How does it work?

The Mental check-in consists of monthly or two-monthly sessions across a year-long programme. No diagnosis or treatment plan is needed. We simply start where you are now.

In the sessions we use techniques from positive psychology, ACT and mindfulness, among others. You choose the pace and the frequency that suit you. Some people come every month, others every two months. What matters is that you create a moment to stop and check in with yourself.
