Who is therapy at De Rave Psychologie for?
You are ambitious, committed, and used to carrying on. But somewhere along the way something started to gnaw at you. Symptoms are a signal, not an endpoint. Below you can read who my guidance suits best and what I specialise in.
Groups my clients often fall into
Many of my clients recognise themselves in one of these groups, but the door is open to anyone who would benefit from professional support.
- People in their twenties and thirties
- Young professionals
- Young entrepreneurs
- Executives
- New parents
- Single parents
- Expats
What I specialise in
For more than fifteen years I worked in youth care and adult mental health care. That is where I learned that problems rarely stand alone: behind stress there is often perfectionism, behind low mood a pattern that has been running for years. That experience shapes where I am strongest today.
Stress, burnout and perfectionism
Many of my clients are used to keeping going: ambitious, committed and always 'on'. I help you recognise where the overload comes from and how to build boundaries that hold.

From a mind that will not stand still to panic that makes your life smaller. With methods such as CBT and EMDR we work on the anxiety and on what lies beneath it.
Read more about anxiety →Low mood and depression
Persistent low mood is more than feeling a bit down. I help you see the patterns that keep it going and find direction again, step by step.
Read more about depression →Patterns from your childhood and parenting
My years in youth care taught me the patterns that are passed on from one generation to the next. I help you recognise and break them, before you pass on what you did not receive yourself.

A move, a loss, a new phase of life or life as an expat. When the ground shifts under your feet, I help you find a steady place in yourself again.
Read more about major life events →I work with evidence-based methods such as EMDR, schema therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and body-oriented interventions. Which approach fits depends on you and your question, and that is something we will look at together.
Honest about what I do not offer
I am a NIP-registered psychologist, not a healthcare psychologist (GZ-psycholoog) or a psychiatrist. With the following issues I will refer you to a colleague who is a better fit:
- Severe personality problems
- Acute suicidal thoughts or behaviour
- Active addiction
- Psychotic symptoms
- Complex trauma
- Acute eating disorders
Not sure? Do get in touch, and together we will look at what suits you best.

Who this is not (yet) for
Under 18? Looking for help takes courage, and it is worth it. De Rave Psychologie currently treats clients aged 18 and over only, so Ylonka is not the right person to help you further. There is help for you: make an appointment with your GP (huisarts) and ask for a referral to a psychologist. That is a good first step. Your GP knows which practices specialise in helping young people.
The care offered is not covered by the Dutch basic health insurance. Partial reimbursement through supplementary insurance or your employer is sometimes possible.
